RUB RAIL ON SIDE OF BODY IS ALLOWED IT MUST TOUCH BODY FOR THE LENGTH OF THE RUB RAIL & BE NO LARGER THAN 1 1/2" OD ROUND OR SQUARE, FRONT & REAR FENDER WELLS MAY BE REMOVED ALL GLASS, LIGHTS, TRIM AND OTHER OBJECTS THAT MAY COME LOOSE ARE TO BE REMOVED. WINDSHIELD SCREENS OR BARS ARE REQUIRED. REAR SPOILERS 4" TALL NO WIDER THAN BODY SIDE SKIRTS PERMITTED. WHEN REPAIRING BODIES MUST BE PUT BACK TO LOOK AS NEAR ORIGINAL AS POSSIBLE, OR HAVE THE LIKENESS OF A DIRT WEDGE LATE MODEL. MUST MAINTAIN DIMENSIONS & CONTOUR OF ORIGINAL ROOF, OUTER TRUNK LID, UPPER FENDERS BODY CENTERED NO OFFSETS, EXCLUDES ROOF. THE REAR FILLER PANEL AREA (BELOW TRUNK LID & ABOVE BUMPER) MAY BE REMOVED. FRONT HOOD MAYBE CUT TO ALLOW FOR AIR CLEANER IF AIR CLEANER STICKS ABOVE HOOD IT MUST HAVE A SHIELD AROUND FRONT HALF THE HEIGHT OF AIR CLEANER. OUTER BODY PANELS DOOR SKINS, HOOD ETC. MAYBE REPLACED WITH STEEL OR ALUMINUM PROVIDED THEY LOOK NEAT AND ARE FREE OF SHARP EDGES. INTERCHANGING & MODIFYING WITH TECH APPROVAL ONLY NOTE : THE INTENT OF THE DIRT WEDGE LATE MODEL LOOK IS TO LOOK LIKE THE DIRT WEDGE LATE MODEL, IT MUST BE NEAT ANY SIGNIFICANT PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AND WILL BE ADDRESSED ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS. 3. INTERIOR: MUST HAVE FRONT AND REAR FIRE WALLS. FRONT FIRE WALLS MUST BE IN STOCK LOCATION AND ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT. ALL HOLES TO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT MUST BE SEALED. A FULL REAR FIRE WALL OF 20 GAUGE METAL MUST BE BETWEEN THE DRIVER'S AREA AND THE FUEL CELL, THE METAL AROUND THE FUEL CELL LIKE THE ATL CELL IS NOT CONSIDERED A FIRE WALL. FLOOR MAY BE PATCHED AS NEEDED. NO MIRRORS OR RADIOS, ALL ORIGINAL SEATS AND UPHOLSTERY MUST BE REMOVED; MUST HAVE A SECURELY MOUNTED COMPETITION STYLE SEAT, SEAT BELT AND SHOULDER HARNESS. USE OF CROTCH STRAP IS RECOMMENDED. SHEET METAL WORK IN THE DRIVER'S AREA IS PERMITTED SO LONG AS IT IS SAFE & NEAT, IF EXHAUST EXITS THRU THE FIRE WALL IT MUST EXIT OUT THE BOTTOM, NOT THE RIGHT SIDE OF CAR. BATTERY MOUNTED IN DRIVERS AREA OR TRUNK MUST BE COVERED WITH A PLASTIC BATTERY BOX & IN THE BOTTOM OF BATTERY BOX THERE MUST BE 1/4" WOOD OR 1/8 STEEL WITH BOLTS THROUGH IT, BATTERY MUST FIT SNUGLY IN BOX. BATTERY MOUNTED IN STOCK LOCATION MUST BE SECURE BUT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE IN A PLASTIC BATTERY BOX. 4. ROLL CAGE: WILL BE A SIX POST DESIGN USING 1 1/2" OD BY .095 WALL OR EQUIVALENT AND MUST HAVE A BAR ON EACH SIDE FROM REAR FRAME TO REAR ROLL BAR POST ON EACH SIDE (MINIMUM) OF 2" ABOVE THE DRIVER'S HEAD. ROLL CAGE CANNOT BE BOLTED TO THE FLOOR PAN & MUST BE WELDED TO FRAME AND OR SUB-FRAME. DRIVER'S SIDE MUST HAVE 3 HORIZONTAL BARS & 1/8" STEEL PLATE MOUNTED TO OUTSIDE OF BARS FROM TOP TO BOTTOM SO AS TO PROTECT THE DRIVER, WITH MINIMUM 2 BARS ON THE RIGHT SIDE. 5. FUEL: GASOLINE ONLY. GAS TANK MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE ORIGINAL LOCATION. A FUEL CELL IS MANDATORY MUST BE INSTALLED IN TRUNK AREA & SECURED WITH 2 BANDS IN EACH DIRECTION. BANDS MUST BE MIN OF 1 1/2" WIDE. NO PLUMBER'S STRAP. FUEL LINES ARE TO BE SECURELY- MOUNTED PROTECTED. FUEL LINES RUNNING THROUGH DRIVERS AREA MUST BE AERO QUIP STEEL BRAIDED OR EQUIVALENT. FILL NOZZLE CANNOT GO INTO REAR INTERIOR. 6. FRAMES: STOCK FRAMES MUST BE OF THE SAME MAKE AS BODY WITH PRIOR TECH APPROVAL REPAIRS MAY BE MADE TO ORIGINAL FRAME WITH LIKE MATERIAL OR TUBING, NO FULL TUBE FRAMES OR AFTER MARKET FRAMES ALLOWED. A FRONT RADIATOR HOOP (CRASH BAR) IS PERMITTED. REAR FRAME SUPPORTS ARE PERMITTED. 7. SHOCKS & STRUTS: FRONT END MUST USE THE TYPE SUSPENSION AS FACTORY EQUIPPED EITHER ADJUSTABLE STRUT, STRUT, DOUBLE A FRAME, EACH MAYBE MODIFIED FOR VARIOUS SPRINGS AND ADJUSTMENTS EXAMPLE A FRAMES MAY USE ADJUSTABLE WEIGHT JACK BOLTS & BUCKETS, BUT NOT CHANGED FROM ONE TYPE TO THE OTHER EXAMPLE NO A FRAMES WHERE STRUT WAS. NO RACING STRUTS, ALUMINUM, RE-BUILDABLE OR DOUBLE SHOCKS NOT PERMITTED. ONLY STOCK OR NON REBUILD ABLE STEEL RACING SHOCKS, COIL OVERS ARE PERMITTED (MAX 1 SHOCK & SPRING PER WHEEL). CARS USING COIL OVER SHOCKS (WITH SPRING ON SHOCK) MUST USE STOCK LOWER MOUNT POSITION THE FIXTURE MAY BE ADAPTED TO FIT SHOCK, THE UPPER MOUNT MY BE MODIFIED AS NEEDED. OTHER SHOCK MOUNTS MAY BE MODIFIED AS NEEDED. STRUTS MUST BE IN ORIGINAL LOCATION, UPPER STRUT SUPPORTS ARE PERMITTED. THE FRONT OR REAR YOU MAY USE TWIST IN STEEL OR RUBBER SPACERS AS LONG AS THEY ARE WIRED TO THE SPRING. REAR MAY USE COIL SPRING, STRUT, OR COIL OVER SHOCK (WITH SPRING ON SHOCK ) ONE TYPE OR THE OTHER NOT MIXED ALL 3 MAY BE USED WITH 3, 4, OR 5 ADJUSTABLE LINKS OR 1/2 LEAF (NO FULL LEAFS WITH THESE) THEY ALSO MAY USE 1 SOLID PAN HARD BAR OR J BAR FOR L TO R LOCATING, IN THE FRONT & REAR YOU MAY USE ADJUSTABLE WEIGHT JACK BOLTS & BUCKETS FOR COIL SPRING CAR. IN THE REAR FULL LEAF SPRINGS MAY ALSO BE USED WITH 1 TOP LINK NO OTHER BARS PERMITTED WITH FULL LEAF. ADJUSTABLE SHACKLES, SLIDERS ARE ALSO PERMITTED. NO RACING TYPE SPINDLES OR A FRAMES, STOCK A FRAMES & IN STOCK LOCATION. STOCK SPINDLES ONLY, MUST BE MADE BY THE MANUFACTURER OF THE CAR. NO FULL LEAF & COIL SPRING USED IN COMBO NO INTERCHANGING. TORQUE ABSORBING DEVICES ARE ALLOWED. 8. BUMPERS: FRONT & REAR MUST RESEMBLE STOCK CONTOUR, NO CONE, POINTED, OR BATMAN BUMPERS. CAN BE MADE OF ROUND OR SQUARE TUBING BUMPERS, NO WIDER THAN CENTER LINE OF TIRES, NO SHARP EDGES. A TOW HOOK UP CAPABLE OF SUPPORTING WEIGHT OF CAR AT TOP ON FRONT RADIATOR HOOP &/OR FRONT BUMPER & REAR BUMPER IS MANDATORY. NO HANGING CHAINS OR CABLES FROM BOTTOM OF CAR. 9. BRAKES: 4 WHEEL BRAKES IN GOOD WORKING ORDER ALL THE TIME, ONLY I MASTER WITH SINGLE OR DUAL RESERVOIR. 1 ADJUSTABLE BIAS VALVE MAYBE USED BUT MAY NOT BE ADJUSTED FROM DRIVERS AREA. ALL 4 WHEELS MUST LOCK UP WHEN USING THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN CHECKED ON THE TRACK OR IN THE PITS. 10. TIRES: ALL MUST BE 13” DOT. MEDIUM HOOSIER RACING TIRE, OR ALTERNATLY MAY RUN ANY DOT STREET TIRE (NON RACING TIRE) OF ANY DIA THAT IS AVALIABLE TO ANYONE BUT MUST BE 8” OR LESS WIDE AND MUST DUROMETER 50 MINIMUM, GROOVING OF TIRES IS PERMITTED. MAXIMUM 72 INCH MAX TIRE WIDTH OUTSIDE TIRE TO OUTSIDE TIRE, TIRES TO REMAIN INSIDE BODY AND / OR RUB RAIL AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. 11. WHEELS: MUST BE STEEL (NO ALUMINUM) ANY OTHER TYPE WHEELS WILL BE PERMITTED. MAY USE BEAD LOCK ON RIGHT REAR ONLY, WHEEL LUG MUST BE THE LARGE 1" RACING TYPE & BE AT LEAST FLUSH WITH THE TOP OF WHEN TIGHT ( MUST USE ALL OF THE THREADS ON THE LUG NUT). ALL WHEELS MUST HAVE AND USE ALL OF THE LUGS AND NUTS AS DESIGNED. IF THE WHEEL WAS DESIGNED FOR 5 LUG NUTS, IT WILL HAVE ALL 5 ON IT. AT NO TIME IS A CAR TO GO ON THE TRACK WITH A BROKE OR MISSING LUG NUT OR BOLT. 12. ENGINE & DRIVE TRAIN: 4 CYLINDER PISTON ENGINES ONLY MAX 2600cc WITH ADDITIONAL TOTAL OF 48cc FOR CLEAN UP. INTERCHANGING OF CAR AND ENGINE MFG IS ALLOWED (IE: TOYOTA CAR CAN RUN A NISSAN ENG, ). STOCK OEM PRODUCTION BLOCK NO AFTER MARKET BLOCK, NO ALUMINUM RODS CRANK & RODS MAYBE MODIFIED &/OR INTERCHANGED) PORTING &/OR POLISHING OF HEAD OR MANIFOLD IS PERMITTED. FACTORY STOCK FUEL INJECTION PERMITTED. ANY STOCK 500CFM 2 BARREL OR SMALLER CARBURETOR PERMITTED. NO ALTERATIONS TO CARBURETORS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF CHANGING JETS & REMOVING CHOKE PLATE & SHAFT, ON FUEL INJECTIONS THE SCREEN OR BAFFLE IF EQUIPPED CAN BE REMOVED. ANY INTAKE OR EXHAUST MANIFOLD OR HEADER PERMITTED. BATTERY TYPE IGNITION ONLY. RADIATOR MUST BE IN STOCK LOCATION. STARTER MUST BE IN WORKING ORDER AT ALL TIMES. ANY CLUTCH OR FLYWHEEL. STOCK MANUAL OR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. DRIVE SHAFT MUST BE PAINTED WHITE FOR SAFETY PURPOSES AND HAVE A 360 DEGREE 1/8" THICK X 1" WIDE LOOP AROUND THE FRONT THIRD. ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP WILL BE ALLOWED ONLY WITH THE USE OF OIL PRESSURE SWITCH, & THEY MUST BE WIRED TO THE MASTER KILL SWITCH. REAR AXLE AND HOUSING MUST BE SAME MAKE AS CAR. TRANSPONDERS ARE TO BE LOCATED ON REAR AXLE HOUSING.NO TURBOS NO ROTORYS OR FACTORY HIGH PERFORMANCE ENGINES , NO ENGINE SET BACK, ENGINE MUST BE IN STOCK LOCATION & CENTERED L TO R BETWEEN STRUTS OR BALL JOINTS OR AS IT CAME FACTORY, ANY TYPE MOUNT MAY BE USED 13.EXHAUST: EXHAUST SYSTEM MUST BE SAFE AND MEET APPROVAL. WORKING MUFFLERS ARE MANDATORY ALL MUFFLERS MUST HAVE TAG WELDED TO IT WITH CAR # ON IT MUST PASS THE 35 RP NOISE TEST STRICTLY ENFORCED. EXHAUST PIPES OR MUFFLERS PASSING THROUGH THE DRIVERS COMPARTMENT MUST BE COMPLETELY COVERED. EXHAUST PIPES MUST EXIT THROUGH THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR AND USE A TURN DOWN TO THE GROUND, NOT THE RIGHT SIDE OF CAR. MANDATORY MUFFLERS SEE UNDER GENERAL TRACK RULES. 14. GENERAL SAFETY: MUST HAVE A WORKING FULLY CHARGED 2 POUND FIRE EXTINGUISHER SECURELY MOUNTED [FLAME-OUT FIRE EXTINGUISHING SYSTEMS ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED] MASTER ON/OFF SWITCH MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED WITH RED PAINT AND LOCATED WITHIN REACH OF THE OUTSIDE OF THE CAR BOTH OF THESE MUST BE REACHED BY THE DRIVER FROM THE SEAT FULLY HARNESSED INTO CAR, DRIVER DOOR WINDOW MUST HAVE WINDOW NET WITH QUICK RELEASE, ALL HARDWARE MUST BE MOUNTED TO ROLL CAGE NOT THE BODY, [RECOMMENDED TO HAVE QUICK RELEASE AT THE TOP], . BUMPERS & RUB RAILS MUST BE CAPPED NO SHARP PROTRUDING EDGES. 15. WEIGHT: A MINIMUM CAR WITH DRIVER WEIGHT OF 2150# FOR 2500cc OR MORE / OR INJECTED ENGINES OR ANY CAR WITH 3 OR 4 ADJUSTABLE LINK OR BIRDCAGE REAR. 2025# FOR 2301cc TO 2499cc ENGINES. 1900# FOR 2300cc AND LESS OR ANY TOYOTA OR CHEVY POWERED CAR. (THE WEIGHTS WILL BE ADJUSTED DURING FIRST 4 NIGHTS AND AS NEEDED TO REGULATE CLOSE COMPETITION). 16. MOTOR TECH: AT RANDOM AFTER A FEATURE 1 OR MORE CARS OF THE FEATURE WILL HAVE THE CCs CHECKED (ENGINE SIZE). 16A. IF YOUR CAR WILL NOT PASS POST RACE TECH THE 1st TIME YOU WILL LOOSE POINTS AND MONEY FOR THAT DATE IF YOU FAIL ENGINE TECH THE 2nd TIME DURING THE SEASON THIS PERTAINS TO HEATS & FEATURES YOU WILL LOSE ALL POINTS FOR THE YEAR. 16B. IF YOUR CAR WILL NOT PASS POST RACE TECH (IE: PART BROKE, OR FELL OFF, CAR WON’T START ECT) YOU WILL LOSE POINTS AND MONEY FOR THAT RACE NOT THE WHOLE DATE. AND EITHER TIME ENGINE MUST PASS INSPECTION BEFORE RACING AGAIN . A COMPLETE ENGINE TEAR DOWN WILL BE DONE AT RANDOM & UPON PROTEST. ALL CARS ARE SUBJECT TO TECH INSPECTION AT ANYTIME IT IS THE OWNERS &/OR DRIVERS RESPONSIBILITY TO DISMANTLE ANY PART OF THEIR CAR FOR INSPECTION & TO HAVE A BOOK ON THEIR PARTICULAR ENGINE AND PROVE IT TO BE CONFORMING. 17. COURTESY RULE: AS A COURTESY ANY CAR FROM ANOTHER TRACK OR ORGANIZATION WITH MINOR RULE DIFFERENCES MAY AT MANAGEMENTS DISCRETION RACE ON THAT NIGHT BUT WILL BE NOTIFIED OF THE RULE MODIFICATIONS IN ORDER TO COMPETE CONFORMING TO THE RULES ON THE NEXT VISIT TO THE TRACK. THE EXCEPTIONS WOULD BE SAFETY SPECIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL EVENTS WHICH HAVE NO GRACE PERIOD. THIS RULE IS FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT COMPETED AT 35 RP IN 2007.
